W.o.W is like life – you have to level up skills in life the same as you do in W.o.W.

How long have you been playing for?

Since year 12, I guess since around 2004. So 5 or 6 years now.

On average, how many hours a week do you play?

I play much less than I used to, but in my heyday it was around five hours a day. So 40 plus a week at my peak.

Why did you choose your character’s race and class?

The race, because the Undead are hard as shit and class, because people are always more surprised when they hear you’re a girl playing as a warrior.

Do you wish you lived in the World of Warcraft World? The W.o.W.W?

ABSOLUTELY!

What’s the difference between real world you and W.o.W you?

In W.o.W, I can take on at least six or seven guys at one time whereas in real life that situation never arises…

Would you ever date anyone you meet on W.o.W based on his character?

Ha! No because I’ve previously assumed people are good looking because their characters are awesome but when I see them via webcam, I’ve always been proven wrong.

In one sentence, explain why you’re so into World of Warcraft?

I tried it thinking it was going to be rubbish but got hooked almost immediately.

How long have you been playing for?

For about two years, on and off.

On average, how many hours a week do you play?

I can’t count that high! Maybe an hour or two a day? I used to play a lot more.

Why did you choose your characters race and class?

It seemed obvious to go for the big cow-man, and shamans have badass totems. I don’t know much about the other classes to be honest, I’ve never played them.

Do you wish you lived in the World of Warcraft World?

Umm. No. I’d have to be on guard all the time and it’d take forever getting places.

What’s the difference between real world you and W.o.W you?

Very little. It’s almost exactly the same except in W.o.W except no one believes me that I’m a girl. Many people pretend to be girls to get gold. In the real world, people believe me though.

Hell yes! It shows he has commitment!

I don’t need to. I’m already level 80. Maybe when the expansion comes out.

I haven’t been there in a long time. There are lots more depressing places.

It has to be the Magical Crawdad. You fish up this giant crawdad called Mr. Pinchy and he gives you three wishes. If you’re lucky you get a mini crawdad; if you’re not, you get eaten.

No. I can’t imagine it would too pleasant sleeping inside a polar bear.

It’s fun to play and I meet new friends from all over the world.

How long have you been playing for?

Two years on and off. My longest holiday from the game was for four months because I was pissed off at it for not being able to complete an in-game achievement.

On average, how many hours a week do you play?

The minimum’s 24 hours a week.

Why did you choose your characters race and class?

I wanted to try something different from my other characters so I chose a healer. It turns out to be quite fun!

Do you wish you lived in the World of Warcraft World?

The W.o.W.W? No! It involves too many stupid quests like having to kill 100 wolves or something! I also hate the traveling.

What’s the difference between real world you and W.o.W you?

We’re the same. Even the name is the same. My Guild (a group of players that band together for quests) friends are my real friends.

Would you ever date anyone you meet on W.o.W based on his character?

Nope. But I’ve seen someone who has and it was a disaster! As for the guy’s character, if he’s real good then I’d appreciate his game play. We can be friends but dating…nah.

I’m Alliance so I don’t go to that region but the most depressing place for me is West Fall. But..yes, Swamp of Sorrows is a very depressing place.

My favourite is my little Pug. Perky Pug. I really want the Wind Rider Cub and the Gryphon Hatchling though! They’re only available at the Blizzard (Game creators) store and they’re not shipping them to HK right now >_<!

Busy is the best way to describe this ambitious bee. How many people do you know who whilst still at university, start up and maintain extra-curricular adventure camps (read: piss-ups), organise prestigious and successful fundraisers for the charity that they also manage and promote and idolise two giants of business, Richard Branson and Donald Trump? We know of one. What influenced you to start Sakka? My inspiration to do good came from experience. I helped out at the tsunami relief programs and that’s when I first felt that type of reward. Ever since, I’ve been using that as my fundamental guideline; that gratitude is better than financial reward.

What is your ultimate goal?

To hold a huge reggae party or rave at the convention centre. I’d love to just throw an awesome party that people won’t forget on a yearly basis!

What’s been your best experience so far?

In one week, with sleep deprivation, the team and I managed to pull off the Shut Down On Safari party last Halloween with a 300 plus turn up.

Are you living off your own earnings yet?

Partially actually. I still need mum and dad’s help here and there. University tuition fees…

Does being an entrepreneur get you chicks?

I wish it did but not really. I’m always too busy for chicks.

With the goal of creating a hub for young creative minds, Dan started by working towards hosting a ‘live arts’ event which allows artists to design and create on the spot and then display and sell their creations. Six years into designing, spurred on from a childhood passion for all things eye-pleasing, Dan sources his inspiration from his mixed geographical background, with both local and international styles colouring his work.

What are your influences?

I’m patriotic towards Kong Kong, despite me not being from here. It gives me a different sort of connection; an awareness of the subculture instead of being too immersed. Through subculture, you look through different avenues. I’m emotionally and physically attached to Hong Kong’s environment and I use that to create my stuff, which I think comes across as local and has almost a shock factor when people see it and then realise I’m a foreigner. I’d be a reverse Siu Mai – white on the outside, yellow on the inside.

What’s been your best experience so far?

Designing, managing and producing a global marketing meeting for a big shoe company. It was a challenge but the outcome was successful.

Are you living off your own earnings yet?

Yes! Whether my parents like it or not, I’ve been funding my own lifestyle. Well…not everything.

Does being an entrepreneur get you chicks?

Not so much. I’ve got nothing to show for it. No cash in the bank.

Yes I can, but it’s ginger.

Very much so. My mum is a floral/cake decorator at Floral Floral. I support her and she supports me.

Ultimately to boost public involvement by starting a creative urban centre for kids. Right now there is no real hub for designers and artists. It will give artists a chance to meet and mingle.

Over the sound of a pricking tattoo needle, Hughie tells (with the occasional pause to wince) how he and partner Luke Halsall started their ‘branding identity & commissioned artwork’  company. Looking to avoid the embarrassment of handing a client a receipt signed ‘Hughie & Luke’, they decided to go professional and create Third Square.

What are your influences?

I guess what influenced us to start out was when we found out it was cheap and fairly easy to create a company. We also figured we’d be doing what we like and thought we might as well be making money whilst doing it.

What is your ultimate goal?

To go to university. We’d keep the company registration, put it on hold and hopefully, depending on its success, come back to it.

What’s your best experience so far?

It’s always when I show a client my work and see them happy.

Are you living off your own earnings yet?

Ish…sort of…getting there. I don’t take much help but little bits here and there.

No. I’ve got a long term girlfriend.
