How topical! Not only have we stumbled upon South Africa’s most interesting group but the country also seems to be hosting some kind of sporting event this month. Dwarfing football is wiry white rapper Ninja, bizarre tiny-fringed female rapper Yo-Landi Vi$$er and chunky beatmaster DJ Hi-Tek.
Meet Die Antwoord (The Answer), a rap/techno group from South Africa. Brouhaha stumbled upon this video a couple of days ago. None of this should work, none of it at all, yet it’s been pretty much on loop and we now own their album. We’ve gone from finding it hilarious to dreadful, to embarrassing, then slightly intriguing, followed by full on addiction. Categorise with cigarettes – bad for you but hard to quit.
