ALBUM : DEFTONES – DIAMOND EYES
Tuesday, 4th May, 2010 | 3 Comments »The alternative metal veterans are back with their most accomplished album to date. Their ascent to fame paralled Nu Metal and they unfairly got lumped into their no brainer contemporaries but they have always been a cut above.

The familiar Deftones elements are all still present on Diamond Eyes: the crashing, discordant guitars, the sense of melody in discordance and the heavy stoner drones and beats, but here they sound the most creative and comfortable that they’ve ever been. The intelligent arrangements and blistering choruses are shrouded in musical flourishes and departures that almost recall The White Album, highlighting their creativity as the Beatles of metal. In a genre usually so crippled by lack of forward thinking, Deftones again ring out everything the brutal style has to offer when in the right hands. TC

I woke up after having a nightmare in which I am playing ‘Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past’ on my SNES but then Link turns into a clumsy Corythosaurus, jumps out of my TV, stomps on my SNES and starts pecking at my head. This is a recurring dream and I don’t know what to do!
Anyway, my night was looking pretty bleak when I decided to see what’s new on brouhaha.com.hk. I wanted to thank you TC for bringing my attention to this music, it made me very relaxed and now I feel much better.
I’m now going to return to bed and hope that I dream of nicer things, hopefully things inspired by this music video.
If anyone has any experience with dealing with recurring nightmares, please HELP.
I don’t know much about dreams, but I hope you’re coping alright with your nightmares, Wiggles. Do androids dream of electric sheep?
P.S. This album is GREAT for sleepytime.
